Let me state the following first:
August 31, 2013 - Beginning at 12:00 p.m., New York time, clubs may establish a Practice Squad of eight players by signing free agents who do not have an Accrued Season of free agency credit or who were on the 46-player Active List for less than nine regular season games during each of any Accrued Seasons. A player cannot serve on the Practice Squad for more than three seasons. |

The 29 players currently on the Giants' 90-man roster who are eligible for the Practice Squad are as follows below:
•NOTE: The 7 2013 draft choices appear first in the list.
.
.
.
•It's obvious that Pugh, Hankins, Moore, Nassib, & most likely Taylor aren't candidates for the P.S. considering their raft status, so you can eliminate those 5.
•At this point, the same probably can be said about 7th round pick (next to last in the entire draft) Michael Cox, considering what he's shown thus far in training camp and preseason.
•The only draft pick that probably won't get picked off of the waiver wire, if he's let go by the Giants come the final cut-down date in 6 days is OG and 7th round pick Eric Herman.
•This leaves 22 or 23 players, who if placed on waivers, will most likely not get picked up, with the lone exception being TE Larry Donnell.
•A scenario could easily unfold in which Donnell is claimed by another team off of waivers.
•Players clear waivers at 12 pm NY time next Sunday, September 1st, after being waived at 6 pm the previous day.
•If teams don't put in claims for a given player off of waivers, then he is considered a free agent at that point who is free to sign with the team of his choice (Practice Squad or 53-man roster).
•Remember that players claimed off of waivers during this 18 hour feeding frenzy next weekend must be added to the claiming team's active 53-man roster.
•Things will be fluid with respect to the bottom of team rosters until Monday on account of all the action going on around the league.
•This should help to clear up misconceptions about the subject.
•I wrote about this on Giants Salary Cap blog 2 days ago. Read it if you like in the link below.
•It has more details and other link for certain players to check out and read up on further.

You mean Belichick! Say it, damn it! ;)
•CB Terrence Frederick was on the Giants' PS last year too before being added to the 53-man roster for the last 2 games of the season last year.

Not have an accrued season of NFL service, defined as being on the team’s 53-man roster, PUP or IR for 6 games in any one season, or
See here: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TratJu00.htm
read the article about P.S. eligibility that I posted above. This excerpt here from point #1 invalidates your claim:
1. Not have an accrued season of NFL service, defined as being on the team’s 53-man roster, PUP or IR for 6 games in any one season, or
2. Not been on a team’s 45-man game day active roster for more than 8 games during that one accrued season.
3. A player can serve 2 years on the Practice Squad and is eligible for a 3rd, if the team carries a full 53-man roster during the time the player is serving on the PS.

The key word is ***or***
Nor in his first accrued season in 2011.
Hence he is eligible for the PS.
He has 2 accrued seasons and you are only allowed one at best.
my bad.

So you mean SEASONS is wrong and should read SEASON?
The question is whether for PS eligibility you are allowed any number of accrued seasons provided in each one you were active for less than 8 games.
If so, then Trattou is eligible.
If you are allowed only one accrued season of less than 8 Active games then he is not eleigible, since he has two.

Ojomo has one accrued season in 2012 and was inactive almost every game...definitely less than 8.

That statement is absolutely true, and it describes the vast majority of PS-eligible players. However, Patti doesn't mention the other path to practice squad eligibility: Your other source notes that a player with exactly one accrued season can still be PS-eligible if he dressed for fewer than nine games in his one credited year. That's why Patti and I disagree about Ojomo and Mosley. I say they are in. She says they are out. It won't matter for Mosley, but it might matter for Ojomo.
